The corporation DuPont patents their Tychem cleanup suits for hazardous materials, which are used in petroleum industry disaster response to mitigate ecological disasters. Highlighting this act of poetic redundancy—the fact that cleanup is conducted with the same materials that potentially harm us—Zurkow hand-crafts her own HazMat suits and re-scales them to outfit children. These suits are sealed to prevent them from ever being worn, thus assuring that no children are actually involved with the process of hazardous waste cleanup.
