Tissue is a series of 40 prints that document the behavior of five synthetic neural systems. In each image, the lines reveal a history of movement that was made across the simulated environment, as it was navigated in software created by the artist. The software is performed live and each print is captured at a moment selected by the artist. Each print represents one possibility within the near infinite space of the system. The work of Valentino Braitenberg, a neuroscientist, is the foundation of the project and the artist’s starting point for exploring the phenomena of emergence.
