This series of photographs was created by layering negatives from easily obtained publicity photographs of male and female media heroes. Stars of the opposite sex were cross-pollinated, so to speak, by “sandwiching” the negatives, manipulating the outcome, and printing the result several times. Although either the male of the female star dominates in some of the photographs, the imagery focuses more on the overlap of gesture and intent.
