Learning Machine #4: Language draws from a corpus of English-language literature in the public domain, used for training machines to recognize and dynamically generate text. The selection of literature ranges from Pride and Prejudice to Tropic of Capricorn to Samuel Butler’s translation of Homer’s Odyssey. The participant’s choices generate a new text, akin to a Burroughs/Gysin cut-up, where words are mixed and matched.
