Field Oak – 52 Hour Film depicts a field of trees, shot once a week for an hour at sunset over the course of one year. Created in Southern France, it plays with the trope of plein air landscape painting, slowing down the viewer’s pace – and becomes a screen-based experience that is about something rarely felt in our frenetic urban-centric world. Working directly in front of the subject, Blondes creates for the viewer a container of real experience, a visual record of an authentic experience in time and place.
